Brian and I have known each other since High School, but it wasn’t until years later that we became friends. After months of daily phone conversations, and standing Friday and Saturday night plans, we noticed potential for more than just a friendship and began dating. We dated for a little over three and a half years before we got engaged. During these years, we were welcomed into each others families, sharing birthdays, holidays, and many other special occasions. In November 2007, while I was out for dinner with my sister, Brian sat down with my Mom and Dad, and asked for their permission to marry me. A week later, with the Christmas lights shining over Niagara Falls, Brian proposed.

When we started planning in January, we knew we had a big job ahead of us. Neither of us had attended many weddings, and we had no idea where to begin or what we were looking for. We started searching for the “perfect” location for our ceremony and reception venue. After a few unsuccessful appointments, we found it: The Liberty Grand in Toronto.
Rachel A. Clingen came highly recommended through our wedding planners at Laura Kelly Wedding Design. Our planners were confident RAC would give us the wedding of our dreams.

After meeting with Rachael at her design studio and seeing the passion and enthusiasm that she and her team had for their work, we knew that we were in good hands. Rachel listened to our thoughts, worked with our ceremony and reception needs, and helped bring our wedding theme together.
After a year and a half of planning, our wedding day had arrived. With Brian and I arriving at separate times that day, we each saw the Ballroom and Courtyard during the assembly process. Immediately we noticed a friendly face in the crowd, Rachel was there, ensuring our day went off without a hitch! Even moments before guest started to arrive, Rachel was in the lobby ensuring everyone was calm, collected, and even had boutonnieres on just right. It was comforting knowing that the RAC design team was here for us from the beginning of the design process through to the end of our wedding day.
The décor was everything we could have imagined. The courtyard was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and photos, and the ballroom took our breath away.
The first time we saw the ballroom was as we were introduced. Seeing our friends and family, all together, surrounded by the décor we worked so hard to make just right was one of many highlights of the evening.
Rachel, we can not thank you and your staff enough for making this day everything we could have dreamed of. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and in the years to come when we look back on our wedding photos, we will never forget the excitement of that day. |
