Mathieu and I are an eHarmony success story! We were matched and met in August of 2008 and were engaged soon after in November. Even at our first date we knew we had something special; we had so much in common including everything from our love of ice cream, board games and road trips to our love for animals and family time. Most importantly, we both truly enjoy spending time in the natural world that surrounds us. In fact, Mat proposed to me while we were on an afternoon hike with our dog! Shortly following our engagement we decided that we would use our wedding as an opportunity to show our love for nature, so we decided to hold our wedding in Muskoka, Ontario, to enjoy nature’s true rustic beauty. |
After our first meeting with Rachel, we were confident that she had envisioned exactly what we wanted in our wedding – Muskokian rustic elegance – and that rustic elegance is exactly what she, Jesse and the team delivered on the day of our wedding! Held at Bayview Wildwood Resort, our ceremony and reception were a dream come true for Mathieu and myself.
Due to weather concerns we could not have our waterfront ceremony, so Rachel and her team put their decor skills to work and created a breathtaking, yet intimate, ceremony venue. |
Simply put, they used the room architecture to their advantage. They created an outdoor feel indoors by opening the doors and centering the birch tree chuppa in front of the doors so our guests could still have a view of the lake during the ceremony.
From the moment I began walking up the gerbera daisy urn and candle lined aisle, I was so incredibly thankful that I had chosen Rachel for my floral and decor because no one could have created such a breathtaking indoor ceremony that perfectly exemplified Mathieu and I as a couple. Rachel and Jessy and the crew worked with the circumstances they were given and made it gorgeous!
Our reception venue was transformed just as brilliantly! With the lights dimmed and the candles lit, our reception hall felt just as intimate, yet rustic and elegant. What we loved the most were the gerbera daisy and pink peony centerpieces sitting atop a birch tree stumps surrounded by candles...how creative! Our head table was just as beautiful with a stunning chocolate brown backdrop that still showcased the lake behind us, urns filled with gerbera daisies and birch tree candles.
Put simply, Rachel and Jessy made our dream of a rustic Muskoka-themed wedding a strikingly gorgeous reality! I will be forever grateful for Rachel's visionary and creative talents because without her my wedding would not have been what it was. Thank you Rachel, Jessy and your team for the care and dedication you put in to making our dream wedding a reality!
