While many of our weddings are all over the Toronto and Ontario region, it isn’t to often that we are able to work in Vancouver.. that is until my best friends’ daughter, Taryna, married her sweet heart Amile a the very beautiful Hycroft Manor in Vancouver. Taryna is special to me for more reasons then one. We both lost our mothers at a young age to cancer but in addition she became a special daughter to my childhood and long time friend Andria when her father remarried. I was over the moon when I heard that Taryna was engaged and honoured to be able to design the floral and decor for the couples special day. Congratulations Amile and Taryna! Canadiana Themed Gala {Toronto Events}

We were thrilled to head up the decor and floral for the Red, White & Rouge All Over Gala Event this year at the beautiful Deer Creek Golf and banquet facility in Ajax! This important fundraiser is all for a good cause and will support the purchase of equipment for the hospital to make the patient experience more comfortable while being cared for at both Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering Hospital as well as Rouge Valley Centenary hospital.
Guests enjoyed a fabulous dinner and some classic Canadian entertainment including the likes of True Canadian ‘HOSERS’ Bob and Doug McKenzie as well as an incredible performance by Canadian Mussician, Michael Kaeshammer, who has performed around the globe! Rugged decor elements reflecting our Canadian regions was a key factor when designing this event. A Muskoka cabin and ‘lumberjack’ fabric were fitting accents. Birch limbs supported beautiful wrought iron candelabras and were topped with of course.. red floral arrangements for more elegant touch to the event.

From time to time we would like to showcase a few of Toronto and Muskoka’s leading wedding vendors. Over our 19 years in the wedding industry, we have worked with a large spectrum of photographers, caterers, tent companies, wedding planners and venues. We thought it would be insightful to our brides to reveal some of our favourites. We love Rowell’s creative edge and have used them several times for creative shoots.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT THIS WEDDING SEASON:
In April we travel to Iceland to photograph a wedding under a waterfall. And of course our wedding May 25th 2012!!!

YOUR BEST ADVICE FOR COUPLES GETTING MARRIED TO HELP THEM THROUGH THE PLANNING PROCESS:
Start planning early!!!! We can’t stress this enough. Your life is already busy enough, you don’t need to be running around in the last 5-6 month before your wedding meeting vendors for the first time. Its a frustrating process to plan a wedding at the last minute. So start planning 9 months-1year from your wedding date and then only spend a few weekends meeting with vendors. Try not to pack in all your meetings into one day, spread them out. You don’t want to be falling asleep during vendor meet and greets. You want to be at your best so they can get a good idea of who you are and what your vision is for the wedding day.

Vintage Engagement Shoot {Wedding Decor Toronto}

I just had to post Rachael and Joey’s incredible vintage engagement shoot! When our very beautiful future bride, Rachael shared these images with me, I contemplated whether these were indeed the most romantic engagement images I had ever seen! Renaissance Studios is known for incredible modern vintage style of shooting and captured this couple in a way that takes your breath away! I should have known that this sweet couple would choose a vintage feel for their session.. I mean after all their upcoming wedding will be full of vintage decor details! When Toronto Wedding Planner Crystal from Distinct Occasions brought us this artistic wedding assignment, I couldn’t help but be on the hunt for unique finds at the local second hand shops! Can’t give away all the details but you can be sure there will be antique furniture, pretty ribbons, and even an old stove for their upcoming wedding, when we’ll take ‘shabby chic’ to a whole new level! Memories – Stunning Vibrant Tent Wedding {Wedding Flowers Decor Toronto}

As the wind blows and the snow falls, I thought it would be cheery to do a post on some bright and fresh wedding decor in a tent just west of Toronto. We had so much fun planning the decor and flowers for this pretty summer wedding! Marc and Amy are from the Hamilton area and Marc’s lovely family home was host to 300 hundred guests all under the white tent canopy on their front lawn. The very beautiful Amy, loves romantic bright colours and wanted her wedding to be fresh and fun. Amy wanted the wedding decor and flowers to be pretty but not to pretentious. The sweet bridesmaids dresses by After Six were a great starting point for our palette! A few birch accents reflected the couples love of the outdoors and added just a touch of ‘rustic’ with out being to casual. The tall manzanita tree centrepieces were accented with pretty orange roses and hanging amaranthus as well as hanging votive candles. Ralph Lauren Inspired Wedding Shoot {Wedding Decor Toronto}

The warm glow of the fall season was the perfect time for a Ralph Lauren Inspired wedding style shoot with antique decor accents and a pretty collection of flowers. By now, you all know just how much I love horses and some of my happiest moments are spent with David in our humble little barn, listening to our horses eat their hay or gazing out over our fields. So it was fitting that our little barn host this fabulous wedding style shoot. Our insanely talented friends at Rowell Photography captured the details perfectly and neither Erika or Ryan seemed to mind swatting the flies off the cake or stepping around the manure to get the shots just right! The decor and flowers are a perfect blend of ‘where the rustic meets the refined’! My very own mothers bone china graced the table top and was accented with old brown bottles used once upon a time for medicines, oils and other home remedies. Flower collections of yellow and cream peonies accented with blue thistles reflected wedding flowers of times past. Grouped together, these combinations, created centrepieces that looked both rustic and refined for a Ralph Lauren inspired wedding. Muskoka Wedding At Delta Rocky Crest {Wedding Decor Flowers Muskoka}

The Delta Rocky Crest on Lake Joseph was the perfect spot for Natalie and Phil’s beautiful shabby chic wedding and the perfect spot for some sweet Muskoka inspired wedding decor and flowers. The rain barely held off just long enough for the beautiful and sweet bride to walk up the aisle. The dock over looking gorgeous Lake Joseph, was perfectly detailed with fabulous flowers and even some birch accents and was just big enough to seat the couples guests’ for the ceremony. The hustle and bustle of a busy Muskoka lake, with boats and near by cottages didn’t stifle the romance in the fresh lake air. The reception held in the resorts tent, was decorated with a sweet ribbon backdrop framed with, of course, birch logs. The candle lit hanging vintage lanterns gave a warm intimate glow as the couple enjoyed their first meal together as husband and wife. The centrepieces in simple mason jars, were accented with birch table numbers stands. Congratulations to the very sweet couple! In the spirit of this beautiful season, swoon over this wintery wedding shoot with old world glam and even a rustic twist. So I will admit to daydreaming of every wedding shoot we have the opportunity to do, but this wintery wedding display at a farm north of Toronto holds a special spot in my heart! The remains of an old barn, is the perfect backdrop for a fabulous wintery display loaded with colour! Since I am from the beautiful and rugged northern Ontario, where winter means snow covered roads from Dec til at least March, its easy to see why this wedding shoot is reflective of who I am and what I love. Old Hollywood Glam Wedding At Palais Royale {Wedding Decor Toronto}

The very chic Palais Royale in Toronto was the perfect venue for Tanya and Georges’ hollywood glam wedding. Beautiful flowers and wedding decor helped to create the rich atmosphere Tanya dreamed of. We were swooning over the amazing photos by Azure Photography! Tanya is a talented designer herself so this wedding was not lacking in fabulous details inspired by days gone by. Oh how we love details! Palais Royale, a historical Toronto landmark, once among other things, was a sizzling waterfront dance hall! Today it is the venue of choice for many Toronto brides seeking a memorable location. The ceremony was held under the tent on the outdoor patio over looking the lake. Beautiful flowers burst out of our chic chrome urns and created a spectacular focal point. The centrepieces, tall elegant silver candelabras and low floral pieces lined the guest tables and created an intimate atmosphere. Rich tones of purples, aubergines and even pinks were combined for a rich look. The small headtable was framed with an aubergine silk backdrop and was a dramatic focal point for the room. The swanky party was the perfect way for friends and family to celebrate with the beautiful couple as they danced the night away and listened to the music of a very special guest! Mayors Gala Plays An Important Role In Community Fundraising! Event Decor Toronto

The 2011 Mayor’s Gala in Pickering was an event to be remembered. We were so thankful for the opportunity to transform the Pickering community centre into a stunning and glamorous ballroom with some fabulous decor and flowers. As well we are proud to be a part of this important fundraiser as it is a major contributor to four major community groups. The Rouge Valley Hospital, The Children’s Wish Foundation, Footprints and Epilepsy Durham Region all benefit from this prestigious event. Due to generous donors like the Mayor’s Gala, Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital added a new MRI to its Diagnostic Imaging Department! Wow! Fabulous Fall Wedding At Gibson Centre (Wedding Decor Alliston)

We love fall weddings and what better location for fabulous decor and flowers, then at an old factory built in the 1800′s! On a beautiful sunny October Saturday, the Gibson Centre in Alliston, currently a performing arts centre, was transformed into a romantic wedding venue. The brisk fall air was no match for the heart warming candle lit ceremony as Shelby and Derek expressed there love for each other. After, guests enjoyed an evening of celebrations in the gorgeous room upstairs. Exposed brick and beams was the perfect backdrop for some rich coloured flowers and decor. I just loved the eclectic feel of rustic charm mixed with elegant elements. The flowers were simple yet rich with colour and really accented the neutral palette of the venue. The very talented Erika and Ryan from Rowell Photography shared these beautiful images with us. Wedding Decor Barrie Maclaren Art Gallery Wedding

We always love to decorate weddings at Maclaren Art Gallery in Barrie, Ontario. The clean crisp atmosphere is the perfect canvas for a chic look. The very beautiful bride Danielle loves simple but pretty things and loves pink.. ah a girl after my own heart! While she loves classic flowers, she wanted the atmosphere for her wedding to have a sophisticated, romantic feel with an edgy twist. Classic large topiary balls of pink hydrangeas, roses and peonies created a spectacular focal point for both the ceremony and the reception. Our plexi glass stands accented the aisle and were the bases for simple arrangements of roses. Soft pink and mauve rose petals lined the aisle. Although Danielle loves candlelight, due to insurance reasons, the art gallery cannot allow any candles. We decided that the best way to create candle lit ambiance was to use beautiful wax luminaries with flickering lights. Romantic white vintage lanterns and white candelabras lined the guest tables and added the warm glow. Fresh mounds of roses were placed in between for a touch of soft colour. Wedding Decor Niagara At Chateau Des Charmes Winery

The beautiful winery, Chateau Des Charmes, in the quaint town of Niagara On the Lake, was the perfect spot for Kim and Jon’s Wedding and the perfect backdrop for rich decor and flowers. When I saw how Angela from Angela Smith Photography captured this truly romantic day I knew I had to share them with you! Thank you Angela for your helpfulness in sending along these spectacular images. The ceremony overlooking the vineyards was spectacular with eggplant and aubergine flowers. ‘Vine’ like branches inside our plexi glass stands accented the aisle. Our chic chrome urns gave a sophisticated and elegant feel. The beautiful bride carried, deep crimson and aubergine roses along with eggplant calla lilly’s, and purple orchids which were hand tied with charcoal silver ribbon. The reception decor was captivating. Tall branch centrepieces brought the ‘vineyard’ feel into the wedding tent and were detailed with orchids. Guests enjoyed dancing under the warm glow of chinese lanterns that hung from the tent canopy. Now while I have to admit to picking decor photos as my faves, I would have to say that this time the one that made me smile was the photo of Kim and Jon saying thankyou in a way that embraced both their cultures. Wedding Decor Muskoka – Autumn Wedding At J.W. Marriott The Rosseau

The crisp autumn air and a view of Lake Rosseau, a perfect way to celebrate love and a perfect spot for some Muskoka inspired wedding decor. The J.W Marriott, The Rosseau was the venue of choice for Stacey and Martin. We snapped a few pictures of this beautiful setting but look forward to see the professional images. The ceremony was held on the patio overlooking the beautiful Lake Rosseau waters. Although the brisk October air had guests bundle up for the ceremony, their hearts were warmed as they watched Stacey and Martin exchange ‘I do’s’. The wedding decor was simple yet elegant. Clusters of branches in our acrylic stands accented the short aisle and gave a rustic feel to the elegant decor. This is after all Muskoka, home to hundreds of breathtaking cottages, a blend of the rugged and refined. The classic wedding flower arrangements of roses, hydrangeas and orchids created a focal point in front of the fabulous Muskoka waters. It was an intimate affair, only 16 guests in total and it was just the way the couple wanted it! Congratulations Stacey and Martin!
