  Anish and I were engaged in November 2006 in Washington, DC at the National Archives. He got down on one knee atop the steps of the Archives, pulled the ring out and asked me to marry him.  Not until a group of tourists started clapping did I realize that I was being proposed to!  Needless to say, I was ecstatic!  Wedding planning mode settled in pretty quickly and we had to first decide where to get married.  He lived in Washington, I lived in Boston and my family was in Toronto.  We decided that a wedding in Toronto was a perfect idea making it easier for family and some friends that were local. But then the reality of planning a wedding from afar settled in.  Needless to say, planning a wedding from afar took a lot of trips and a lot of internet time.  I had a vision for my wedding - Indian themed, traditional and modern and beautiful décor.  I knew that was important to me.  As soon as Mimmo told me about Rachel and I saw some of her work on the internet I booked her immediately.  I was unsure at first if I had made the right decision because I had done it so quickly and every other wedding decision was well thought out.  It took me no time to figure out how lucky I was.

After I met with Rachel and she understood my color, theme, vision and budget, she worked with me and threw out fantastic ideas until we figured out what would work.  She was also so great at helping me prioritize different design ideas and decor.  She was creative and practical and by the end of a couple of sessions, had a perfect plan in place.  Rachel was so incredibly easy to work with and just understood my end vision so well.  She even did site visits to the venue to ensure that the draping would work and to suggest other ideas we had not thought of.  I called her all the time and she was always so incredibly responsive to my questions and thoughts and ideas.
I have to say that once Anish and I walked into the room at our wedding we were overwhelmed at how gorgeous it was.  The draping on the ceiling, the rose balls, the backdrop, color, tablecloths - it was all so perfect and so gorgeous and so colorful.  She added candles to the head table (which was just Anish and myself) creating such a romantic mood.  I still look at the pictures of the decor and am ecstatically happy with what she put together and envisioned.  Her suggestions were absolutely perfect.  Every single one was right on. We will appreciate her work for years and can't say enough on how amazing she is.  Both the wedding and reception would not have been the same without Rachel's touch.  Everyone did such a wonderful job and I can't say enough about the job that was done.  Our guests were amazed at the décor and still talk about it.  Thank you Rachel and team for making the wedding as memorable as it was.  Every time we look at a picture with the beautiful décor it brings back such amazing memories.
